We are looking for enthusiastic and friendly individuals to join our Chesterfield team as an Optical Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers into the store and provide exceptional customer service.
• Assist customers with frame selection and advise on the best lenses for their needs.
• Carry out pre-screening tests such as retinal imaging and visual field tests, preparing customers for eye examinations.
• Take accurate measurements for spectacle fitting and dispense glasses according to the prescription.
• Help with frame adjustments and repairs, ensuring the best fit for customers.
• Manage and maintain stock levels, including replenishment of frames and lenses.
• Handle sales transactions, including cash and card payments.
• Support the optometrists and other colleagues to ensure smooth store operations.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a customer service or retail role is desirable, but not essential – full training will be provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers.
• A passion for providing excellent service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• An interest in optics and a willingness to learn about eye health and eyewear products.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
